We make
businesses
more human, humans more innovative, communication
more inspiring,
and organizations

more truthful, relevant and resilient.

We know:

How identities can
embody the future,
and not just the past.

How sustainability
can make
communication
more effective –
and vice versa.

How we can
achieve the same
level of innovation
in culture and
values that we are
seeing in science
and engineering.

We have helped Fortune 100, entrepreneurs, social innovators and non-profit organizations in nearly every industry grow, through identity and communication strategy, employee programs, naming, start-up and product launches, interactive design and complete communication programs.

We're based at Crowflies, in Norfolk, Connecticut and Brooklyn, New York.

Listen to your mother (nature).

However accomplished we are at communications, we like to

view our efforts in the context of the awe-inspiring natural world

in which we live. Birds (mostly male) sing to defend their territory

and to attract a mate. Short, simple songs are used for defense,

and operatic ones to attract females. They can distinguish

neighbors from strangers, call their mate to come home, and

travel incognito by imitating the local “language”. We asked Peter

Alden, an ornithologist, to choose and translate notable examples

of communication from the world of birds. The recordings are

from the Cornel Lab of Ornithology.

"Hi, this is your mother, remember me?"

Parents here are teaching their babies to recognize their voices. Imagine fifty parents facing the other way, with exactly the same haircut. Each baby has to recognize both mother and father when they say good morning. Likewise, parents have to hear their own babies in the din of all the rest. Orphans don’t get fed.

Timing is everything.

The Lunar Diary is a daily planner that helps you experiment with
your sense of timing, develop
your intuition, and aid in choosing the most auspicious times to
start a business or new endeavor (and when not to), break out of
stale personal patterns, schedule important meetings or plan a party, get married, travel, sign contracts, buy, sell or close on real estate,
and on and on, for whatever you plan that’s important to you.
